Religio perpetua

Religio perpetua is conceived as an installation: two works with the same conceptual base: images and titles make up the work. A series of paintings with a title refer to events and people of the New Testament, but images are not attributable to classical iconography, they emphasize how the same words, the same image can be interpreted in different ways, even by the same individual, in the various stages of life. The other part of the installation is an ancient holy place into a sheet that contains a title with a reference to mythology (such as the image of the cup of Christ is called "Bacchus Cup"). Religio perpetua è concepita come un’istallazione costituita da due lavori autonomi con identica base concettuale: immagini e titoli formano l’opera. Una serie di dipinti titolati con riferimenti a fatti e personaggi del Nuovo Testamento: immagini tuttavia non riconducibili a un’iconografia classica, tese a sottolineare come la stessa frase, la stessa immagine possano venire interpretate in modo differente, anche dallo stesso individuo, nelle varie fasi della vita. L’altra parte dell’installazione è un santino antico posto in un foglio che riporta un titolo con un chiaro riferimento alla mitologia (l’immagine del calice di Cristo ad esempio viene chiamata “Coppa di Bacco”). Quella che oggi è per noi leggenda e mitologia era a tutti gli effetti considerata religione dai nostri antenati.
